My Ninth Novel or Twelfth Book

Magenta Fleurs Book Cover by Adrian Pasarin

Magenta Fleurs is my ninth novel or twelfth book! How did I ever get this far? Am I any good? I don’t know ask an expert. However, they don’t read Indies’s or unknown authors. They edit and read New York Times Bestseller’s right? And Booker Prize finalist’s and the long list or short list of books. What’s an author to do that doesn’t have a MFA in Writing?

Well, if you like writing and you’re a good speller with a great memory, then write a book, edit it, cover it and publish it. Be scared. Of course, you don’t want to get sued by anyone so follow the rules as best you can. No you don’t have a lawyer looking over your manuscript, therefore a bit of fear creeps in like, “Oh No! What have I done?”

Relax, it’s only words from the English language and there’s been thousands of writers writing much worse than you. Maybe writing crime is a guy’s thing as women are so scared and afraid. Maybe they keep us afraid, actually. Time to set the record straight, women have a keen eye for justice, liberty, and how to spot a fake. Aha, by George, you think you’ve done it. You’ve written a pretty good book. If not, you can try, try again. And so you do …

Here is my ninth novel, and twelfth book in all, over ten years. I’m a nurse, mother, stylist and yes, a writer. After ten years I’m not perfect but I can write a paragraph in seconds and get to the point fairly quickly. I can write a book and publish it in 3-4 months. Not bad, eh? I want to go to the next step and the one after that: readers, more books, and sales.

My books are available for a summer read or perhaps a fall picnic or winter tea by the fire. Your choice, your way, right here on the net from Amazon, Barnes&Noble, Kobo, Smashwords and numerous others.

Amazon

Above is my complete novel of fiction for Teens, YA, and Adults. The volume contains three books which are one continuous story written over three years. Yes, the amount of words >150K fit the Kindle price of 7.99. I’ve dabbled in covers but like this one with the vintage blue colors.

It’s my masterpiece and I would absolutely enjoy your opinion, through a review or just a comment on my social medias. Go back a couple posts on this blog and you’ll see all the contacts.

I’m going to write another novel because I’ve learned how to do it. People have said its a page turner, I should believe them. One thing is for sure I love to travel so you won’t set still in every chapter. I also love houses and gardens and rivers and oceans … you get the picture. Stories of families, love, adventure, illnesses, and adoption with modern realism are touchstones of my writing.

I know I’ll improve; how could I not? Thanks for following me and encouraging me, you know who you are!

To do list: make a newsletter, get a publisher, and write a couple books a year for many years. There ya go. Adios.

Blogging

cropped-cm800px-claude_monet_-_the_magpie_-_google_art_project.jpgThough sometimes one feels like the lone magpie on the fence … the blogging world has many sites to visit, read and leave comments. To help expand the reach of my written words, I turn to others, and promote their work while continuing my own.

I have three Indie authors with published works for sale on Amazon. You get a feel for the person behind the writing with links to their product. The writing is real and imaginative, and as good as the big guys. My latest interviews are here.

Gardenlilie is my primary and oldest blog celebrating authors and artists. If you would like to be posted contact me here. I would love to showcase your talents, Indie or Professional.

Theivorytide is my newest blog and I post journalism-quality news articles, some relate to the novel I just completed, and others are just inspiring. Have a look. Included are pickles (preserved, treasured, museums) and color (photos, artwork).

AuthorsIndie Author, Michael Brookes, showcases others on his blog. He has displayed my outlook for theivorytide. Have a look.
