My Ninth Novel or Twelfth Book

Magenta Fleurs Book Cover by Adrian Pasarin

Magenta Fleurs is my ninth novel or twelfth book! How did I ever get this far? Am I any good? I don’t know ask an expert. However, they don’t read Indies’s or unknown authors. They edit and read New York Times Bestseller’s right? And Booker Prize finalist’s and the long list or short list of books. What’s an author to do that doesn’t have a MFA in Writing?

Well, if you like writing and you’re a good speller with a great memory, then write a book, edit it, cover it and publish it. Be scared. Of course, you don’t want to get sued by anyone so follow the rules as best you can. No you don’t have a lawyer looking over your manuscript, therefore a bit of fear creeps in like, “Oh No! What have I done?”

Relax, it’s only words from the English language and there’s been thousands of writers writing much worse than you. Maybe writing crime is a guy’s thing as women are so scared and afraid. Maybe they keep us afraid, actually. Time to set the record straight, women have a keen eye for justice, liberty, and how to spot a fake. Aha, by George, you think you’ve done it. You’ve written a pretty good book. If not, you can try, try again. And so you do …

Here is my ninth novel, and twelfth book in all, over ten years. I’m a nurse, mother, stylist and yes, a writer. After ten years I’m not perfect but I can write a paragraph in seconds and get to the point fairly quickly. I can write a book and publish it in 3-4 months. Not bad, eh? I want to go to the next step and the one after that: readers, more books, and sales.

My books are available for a summer read or perhaps a fall picnic or winter tea by the fire. Your choice, your way, right here on the net from Amazon, Barnes&Noble, Kobo, Smashwords and numerous others.

Novelist Caroline Clemens at Artists Alley & Decatur Book Festival

Caroline Clemens is pleased to inform her readers of her recent experience with the Atlanta Writers Club at Artists Alley. The first ever Alpha Con was booked at the Alpharetta Library as an all day event!

This also happened to be her very first book signing in public. She was thrilled! George Weinstein was in attendance. He is the president of the writers club and is also in charge of the Atlanta Writers Conferences which are held twice a year downtown Atlanta in the spring and fall.

It was a busy day in August-somewhat hot, but hey, we already expected that. The library is gorgeous and sits next to a park like setting with grass and trees. We were outside along the brick corridor and shaded. Thank you to the librarians for this fun event. Later that night they held a contest for the best costume. I’m awaiting photos.

Caroline will be at her next event in downtown Decatur, Georgia. This Decatur Book Festival is one of the largest in the country and draws huge crowds with much to do! She’s been twice before and met so many people from the writing world. This time she will be in the Atlanta Writers Tent signing from 4-5 PM. Find her there both days Saturday the 31st, and Sunday the 1st.

Caroline will have on hand several of her print books at a reduced price of $5 and $10. She says she can’t wait to finish “Magenta Fleurs” and will seek a publisher for this title. She feels ready to write, print, publish and would be able to put forth more in a timely manner. Wish her luck. It’s a hard road “self-publishing.” Doable and rewarding, however, one must never turn down help from others!

Last year Caroline even wrote a screenplay and submitted this in a contest. What this did was force her to learn how to do it. Compelling and true, Caroline hopes to find a way to reach more readers, write more, be involved, and feel successful in her own right. Thank you for following and purchasing the indies art of storytelling.

Hello WordPress Followers!

I’m still here. Unbelievable. WordPress has taught me many things but patience is not one of them. I already had that. I was born patient. I learned to work hard which came naturally and to show the  world kindness. When you are faced up against hatred and utterly mean people, well, that can be treacherous and gut punching to say the least. Still, here I am.

I’m proud to announce that my last two books are in print and digital reads at your favorite online stores! Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and Smashwords all have them available. The print will be here May 31st. Pre order if you like and you’ll have that INDIE summer read at the beach or up in your cabin in the woods.

I’ve written a spy-thriller (surveillance & the phone) and a historical fiction (set in the ’20’s). I hope to write sequels for both-we’ll see if we get a good interest. Thanks for following me and watching me grow as a writer. Isn’t it funny I always had a name for me as a writer? I just never started until 2011.

I was motivated by love of the written word-it was just waiting for me to find it. Only heaven knows and the spirit within me why I finally did it. I believe I fell in love, properly.

Oh, how I’ve grown as a writer and publisher. That cannot be discounted. It’s one thing to write a 30K word novella, then progress to a 50K + word novel; but to edit, critique, and publish on four online venues is insurmountable! This do it yourself minus a MFA college degree is frustrating, and more than disappointing when you think you’ve been given a great tip only to find out you’ve been sabotaged. You must listen to others because you are starting from scratch, though, I’ve found the internet to be filled with trolls, and nay-sayers, plus inaccuracies. Then again, I’m still here and trying. Why? Because I did find authentic, wonderful writers willing to give me a focus and keep trying.

You know what I like? Exactly the same thing I did as when I started. I like putting together a unique idea from myself and making a small production of it. It is like making and sewing a dress, performing on stage in a theatre production, singing in a choir, traveling, or even making a family and trying to get the parenting right. You keep working it and using all the information at your disposal. It is uniquely you.

My next book release is forthcoming. My best friend influenced me when she said (she’s a huge reader of mystery-crime), you got to kill some people in your book. What? Me kill someone. I’m a nurse we put people back together, that’s my calling. She’s the big reader so I took Shannan’s advice. I’m looking forward to getting some input on this one.

I’ve had it professionally critiqued-she liked it, and queried it out there. Just because nobody picks it up doesn’t mean its not good. The agents and editors don’t have time or are too busy. Once again, I’ll do it alone. Sad face without tears. My wishes go unanswered. Of course, I HOPE someone pounds their fist on a desk when it sells well and they missed an opportunity by dropping me off into the trashcan beside their desk.

Finally, take a look up top at my header image and you’ll see the the cover image for “THREE KING MACKEREL AND A MAHI MAHI” along with my other book covers. Yes, that’s the title and its way more than fishing. The genre is spy-thriller with a romantic element for adults. I’ll be looking for readers-so pass it forward. My estimated release date is February 10-17th! It will be on Apple, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and Smashwords. Surveillance is creepy.
